Designed by globally renowned architect Victor Y.C. Su, the center looks like a giant sailboat resting by a shore. The transparent designs suggest that this place was once a river outlet. On top of the building are two steel plates which keep rain away. The plates are supported by five pairs of tilted pillars. Looking from afar, they seem like a wide, impressive landscape painting. The center also demonstrates the history of Wushi Port through semi-transparent colored graphics. There is even an introduction to the Eight Views of Guishan Island. The semi-transparent images and the beautiful scenery overlap on the glass - this unconventional exhibition is far more than windows, explanatory texts, and LED displays. The viewing platform and hallways on the second floor are lavishly adorned with whale sculptures and a few interesting chairs. This visitor center is surely full of oceanic charm.
