Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival

“Do you remember the joy of building sandcastles as a child?” At the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival, this childhood activity is elevated into a world-class event. Fulong is home to a 3-kilometer stretch of golden quartz sand beach, with sand renowned for its fine texture and exceptional malleability. Praised by the World Sand Sculpting Academy as one of Taiwan’s premier locations for sand sculpture, Fulong has hosted artists from around the world since 2008. Here, they combine architecture and sculpture to create magnificent land art installations inspired by the spirit of environmental sustainability.

After admiring breathtaking sand sculptures, visitors can further explore the region at a leisurely pace by bicycle. They may ride through the historic Old Caoling Tunnel and experience the ocean breeze along the Longmen Suspension Bridge; wander through charming seaside towns to discover hidden cafés tucked away in quiet alleys, relax amid the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, enjoy scenic mountain and ocean views; and explore local craft shops and cultural bookstores where art and everyday life engage in meaningful “dialogues.”
