  • What is the weather now in the Northeast Coast?

    The area's weather changes all the time. Before departure, go to the Central Weather Administration's website to check the latest updates. Please stay safe and mind the weather. If it is not good, cancel the trip!

  • Is there public transport for visitors to the Northeast Coast other than driving?

    Aside from the buses of New Taipei City and Yilan City, visitors might want to use Taiwan Tourist Shuttle.
    "Golden Fulong" and "Zhuangwei-Shachiu" lines are ideal for any travel plans. There are also a range of super-value tickets to choose from!

  • "When does Guishan Island become accessible to visitors in a year? How to register for visiting the island?"

    Island-visit application:

    If you wish to visit the island, please apply online with us (Administration) 20 to 3 days before your day of visit, and complete all necessary procedures. Seats are filled on a first come, first served basis.

    Notes for visiting Guishan Island:

    1. All visitors to the island must be accompanied by professional guides
    2. No accommodation is provided on the island. Please bring own water and food
    3. Do not discard or create garbage on the island. Anything on the island is forbidden from taking away, unless upon permission
  • What are the opening hours of Caoling Historic Trail?
    1. Opening hours: On weekends and holidays, the tunnel is open until 18:00. 30 minutes before the tunnel is closed, visitors are advised to get out. Please do not enter the tunnel at this time.
    2. On weekends and holidays, due to an increasing number of visitors, please do not go into the tunnel by walk.
    3. Cars and tandem bicycles are forbidden from entering the tunnel.
  • Is Bitou Cape Lighthouse open now?

    Because the lighthouse hiking trail is located on a steep hill,
    its surrounding rock layers are severely weathered. That is, landslides are likely to happen.
    To make sure that all visitors are safe, the lighthouse hiking trail is closed for now.
    Bitou Cape Lighthouse is also not open to visitors.

  • Is there any shuttle bus that leads to Caoling Historic Trail from Fulong Visitor Center?

    No such buses are available on weekdays.
    Visitors however may take Bus 791 to Yuanwangken Street Entrance which is near the trail entrance.

  • How can I apply for guide service?

    Applications for interpretation services should be made two weeks before arrival and include such information as the group's name, date of visit, contact person and phone number. A fee of NT$700 will be charged for each guide requested. Applications can be mailed to:

  • What are the opening hours for the Fulong Visitor Center, Dali Visitor Center, and Kueishan Island Visitor Center?

    The Fulong Visitor Center, Dali Visitor Center, Zhuangwei Dune Visitor Center and Nangfangao Visitor Center are open 9:00 a.m. ~ 5:00 p.m.

    The Kueishan Island Visitor Center is usually open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from March 1 to October 31, subject to weather conditions.
