Close to Guishan Island’s fishing area, Daxi Fishery Port produces lots of fish and is highly recommended by locals. Every day, at around 2 to 3 o’clock in the afternoon, boats filled with fish return to the port. Seeing piles of fresh fish and shrimps, one knows a fishery sale is about to begin. From fishermen’s shouting out prices, customers’ making hand gestures to bargain, and to both sides’ setting deals, the sale is fun to watch in this unsophisticated fishery town!
Visitors can also take a look at the tourist fishery sales center nearby. The center is clean and comfy, and all sorts of fishery shops can be found there. You can try fresh seafood cuisine and purchase dried fish and souvenirs in the center at once. Raw oysters, grilled fish, and seafood rice noodles can all be enjoyed. Don’t miss the locally produced seaweed jelly either! This should be the right way to eat the treasures of Daxi!
Get off at Daxi Train Station. Walk 1.5 km (about 20 minutes) to Daxi Fishery Port.
