Influenced by sea erosion, Lanyang Plain’s coasts bend slightly inward like a bow. What’s more, Lanyang River and Dongshan River carry a huge amount of mud and sands into the sea, as their currents are strong. And the Northeast monsoons linger for a long while here in Lize. The result is a sharp delta pointing at the East and it continues to gather mud and sands today. Visitors can thus find unique, tall multi-ridge sand dunes here. The dunes actually make it difficult for river water to go into the sea. With time, wetland takes shape in between the dunes.
The lush green trees and the brown sand dunes make the scenery truly impressive. Endless sounds of ocean waves and a vast open view of Guishan Island in the far distance are soothing to one’s mind and soul. What an unusual experience for urban dwellers.
