The Yongzhen Coastal Service Area is located within the Yongzhen Coastal Recreation Area, offering a vantage point for viewing the famous “Turtle Island sunrise.” The service area is also connected to the Yilan Coastal Bikeway and the scenic coastal attractions along Provincial Highway 2 in the Northeast Coast area. Positioned as a key node within the region’s tourism corridor, the service area integrates coastal scenery, slow travel experiences, and cycling tourism, creating a new seaside destination for relaxation, social interactions, and exploration.
The service area is currently operated by Brand New Day, a seaside café. Owing to its prime location overlooking the sunrise over the Turtle Island, it is named “Brand New Day” to convey a sense of anticipation for the dawn and to symbolize that each sunrise marks a fresh beginning. Visitors are encouraged to leave behind yesterday’s worries and embrace each day as a hopeful new start, gaining renewed motivation for life. Brand New Day offers dining and leisure services. The first floor provides visitor information, basic bicycle repair services, public restrooms, and bicycle washing facilities; the second floor features a café space serving coffee and light meals, allowing visitors to relax while enjoying sea view; and the third floor is designed as a panoramic observation deck with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and Turtle Island. In addition to enjoying delicious food and refreshments, visitors are encouraged to embark on a leisurely cycling trip. Along the way, they can enjoy/explore in the beauty scenery of the Yilan Coast, the shaded paths of the Yilan Coastal Bikeway, and notable attractions such as the Yongzhen Temple, Dafu Sea View Sunrise Observation Deck, and Zhuangwei Sand Dune Service Park , all of which offer rich local culture and unique experiences.
