Maoao Story Venue is a new recreational location on the Old Caoling Circular Bikeway. The park retains coastal native forests, traditional water terraces, stone houses and natural stone trails. The greatest enjoyment for visitors is to stop in the cool shade of the trees, feel the rhythm of the wind blowing through the treetops, and listen to the ever-changing sound of the waves from Maoao Bay. The park was opened on September 18, 2024. The first thing one sees on arriving is the general store on the observation deck. Visitor can climb to the second floor observation platform and enjoy an amazing view of the sea vista in the bay; along the stone walkway between the water terraces exploring the park, there are stacked stone houses built using traditional construction methods such as parallel masonry, rip-stone masonry and herringbone masonry. Next to it is the Satoumi Sea Agricultural Experience Space, and an observation platform from where visitors can admire the first rays of the rising sun. Rich and delicious shrimp roll rice noodles and seafood porridge have become popular in the Maoao area in recent years. There are also local food businesses and snorkeling experiences available in the surrounding area, providing new choices for Maoao tourism.
