The Ling Jiou Mountain Wu Sheng Monastery is situated on the mid hill of Laolanshan in a suburban area south of Fulong. You can enjoy vast open view of the Fulong Coasts and the Pacific Ocean or take a close look at Bitou and Sandiao Capes from here. Surrounded by mountains and facing the ocean, this is the best place to take a spiritual retreat.

The monastery is founded by Master Hsin Tao, who has also founded the Museum of World Religions and the Global Family for Love and Peace. In the red-tiled stone hall is the only jaded Buddha reclining against its left arm in Taiwan. In the back of the building is a “Mountain Worship Avenue” that leads to the top of Laolanshan. On the mountain top, you can overlook the Northeast Coast or watch the Sunrise or Sunset. The sight here is quite expansive.

The monastery has many impressive details. At the entrance is a pair of sharp eagle’s eyes, and on the imposing stone columns are all kinds of religious totems. Such comprise the “Get of Heaven’s Eyes.” Upon entering the monastery, you’ll see an extraordinary 12-meter tall black faced, golden bodied bronze Bodhisattva On the slopes surrounding the temple are 53 pagodas called the “Forest of Sarira Pagodas.” Walk further on and you’ll pass the Halls of Dharma Joy, of Guests, of Huazhang Sea, and of Buddha. Don’t forget to appreciate the five hundred arhat statues stand beside the Arhat Trail. Each has a different look.
