Old Caoling Tunnel
Details
Opening hours: Oct.- Aug :8:30-17:00 Jun.- Sep.:8:30-17:30 (18:00 on weekend and holidays) * Area will be cleared in 30 minutes before closing time.
Address: Old Yilan Railway (From Fulong, Gongliao District, New Taipei City to Shicheng, Toucheng Township, Yilan County)
By train: Take North Link Line and get off at Fulong. Take a nearby hiking trail to reach the destination.

By bus: 1. From Terminal A, Taipei West Bus Station, take Kuo-kuang Bus 1811 (Taipei – Luodong) and get off in Fulong. Take the nearby trail and you’ll reach the tunnel entrance. 2. From Keelung, take Keelung Bus 791 to Fulong. Get off in Fulong, take the nearby trail and you’ll reach the tunnel entrance.
MEMO Cyclists please keep on the right when you cycle in the tunnel. Do not cycle abreast of another cyclist or try overtake him or her, or linger on the road. Watch out for pedestrians, too. In case of an accident, please contact the Traffic Control Center using the emergency speaker in the tunnel. (Note: The tunnel is only open to pedestrians on weekdays. On weekends and holidays, walking is forbidden in the tunnel.)

Jiaoxi Hot Spring
Details
Address: Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County
By train: Take a train of the North-Link Line and get off in Jiaoxi.
By bus: Take Capital Bus No. 1572 (Taipei Bus Terminal – Luodong) or No. 1880 (Keelung – Yilan) that drives through national highways only. You can also take Kamalan Bus No. 1915 (Banqiao – Yilan). Get off in Jiaoxi. Take Kuo-kuang Bus No. 1811 (Taipei – Fulong – Luodong), No. 1740 (Yilan – Fulong – Shuangxi) or No. 1766 (Nanfangao – Toucheng) that drives through several city centers. Get off in Jiaoxi.
MEMO Skipping a natural hot spring bath in Jiaoxi just like not trying some Lanyang snacks when you go to Yilan. Without doing so, your trip won’t be complete. The hot spring bathhouses in Jiaoxi are quite comprehensive. Even leisure facilities and beauty SPAs are provided.

Water Park
Details
By bus: 1.Take Capital Bus from MRT Taipei City Hall. The bus will take off from Zhongxiao East Road and go all the way to the Luodong Train Station. From the back of the train station, take Capital Bus again, No. 241 or 261. In about 20 minutes you’ll reach the Dongshan River Water Park. 2.Take Kamalan Bus from Taipei Main Station or MRT Technology Building. Get off at Luodong Top and walk to the back of the Luodong Train Station (Zhandong Road). Take Capital Bus No. 241 or 261. In about 20 minutes you’ll reach the Dongshan River Water Park. 3.Take a train of the North-Link Line. Get off in Luodong. From the back of the Luodong Train Station, take Taiwan Tourist Shuttle (Dongshan River Route) and get off at the Dongshan River Water Park.

MEMO For waterfowls, there’s no place better to spend the winter than here, not even the coasts of Taiwan. Thus it has been the busiest winter waterfowl habitat for years.

MEMO The BBQ pavilion is full of retro fun. It can block the scorching Sun and heavy rain, too. It is quite pleasant to enjoy delicious grilled food here.

MEMO To provide better services and shorten the wait, several dozens of new private bathing pools has been built. Just make up the price difference to enjoy the wooded personal bathing pools if you have paid the admission fee.

MEMO Most of the scenic spots are located along the eastern coastline facing the spacious Pacific Ocean. But you can also go to Paotaishan for a birds-eye-view of the port or drive along the Sunan Highway.

MEMO The beach leans against mountains and faces the ocean. It is a great place for watching sunrise and enjoying the ocean’s serene beauty. This is also one of the best places for water activities, fishing, scuba diving and a dune buggy ride.
