Yanliao is one of the four major coastal parks in the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration. It is beside the Beibin Highway between Aodi and Fulong. The park is 12km north of Bitou Cape and 5km south of Fulong. It covers 80 hectares of land and has a 3km-long golden beach that eventually links up with the Fulong Beach.

There is a South-Asian garden café and a finely designed scenic water play area with artificial fountains and waterfalls. Many visitors find it especially pleasant to have seashore fun in nature.

Yanliao’s beautiful golden beach sands are made of quartz. You can see lots of tiny holes left by sand crabs on the beach. This is also a great place for playing sand or making sand sculptures. Quite a few international sand sculpture competitions have been held here. Along the beach are a wide range of coastal plants like screw pines, beef wood, beach morning glory, poison bulb, Chinese wedelia, rain flower, lily, evening primrose, beach silvertop, Kuroiwa grass, and Japanese bloodgrass.

Yanliao is suitable for surf fishing, too. The seawaters are the clearest between mid April and mid September of the Lunar Calendar when the southwest monsoon winds blow. The sunny days between late autumn and early spring are ideal for catching tiger fish and threadfin, because on these days the northeast monsoon winds would cease and the ocean would be more peaceful.
