MEMO The beach is open annually from June to September. Its long sand spit makes it the most beautiful beach in Fulong. Beach volleyball and sand sculpturing are highly popular here in addition to playing in seawaters. If you want to try canoeing, we also recommend the Longmen Coastal Area.

MEMO You don’t necessarily have to camp in a tent. At Longmen, you can stay in a cabin to enjoy modern facilities and a different camping vacation.

Ling Jiou Mountain Wu Sheng Monastery

MEMO You don’t have to bring sacrifices here. The temple offers candles and candies which you can dedicate to the deities. You can give some money back if you like, but this is not compulsory. After the worship, feel free to enjoy a vegetarian meal cooked by the monks at the temple’s kitchen. Likewise, donations for the meal are welcomed but not compulsory.

From Yilan, take Kuo-kuang Bus 1740 (Yilan – Shuangxi), also get off at Magang. The lighthouse can be reached by walk.
MEMO There is a display room at the bottom of the lighthouse that shows all of the lighthouses around the country and the lighthouse stamps ever issued by the Chunghwa Post. It also explains the Customs Administration’s main services. You’ll find a variety of light components and models, too.

Nantian Temple

By bus: Take Kuo-kuang Bus No. 1766 (Nanfangao – Toucheng), 1791 (Luodong – Nanfangao passing through Qingsui), or No. 1812 (Tapei – Nanfangao) and get off at Jianxia Stop. You may also take No. 1879 (Yuanshan, Taipei – Nangang – Nanfangao) and get off at Nanfangao.
MEMO Other than the gold statue, there are many other Mazu statues, too. Many people say they are moved by the compassionate-looking Mazu.

Jiaoxi Hot Spring
Details
Address: Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County
By train: Take a train of the North-Link Line and get off in Jiaoxi.
By bus: Take Capital Bus No. 1572 (Taipei Bus Terminal – Luodong) or No. 1880 (Keelung – Yilan) that drives through national highways only. You can also take Kamalan Bus No. 1915 (Banqiao – Yilan). Get off in Jiaoxi. Take Kuo-kuang Bus No. 1811 (Taipei – Fulong – Luodong), No. 1740 (Yilan – Fulong – Shuangxi) or No. 1766 (Nanfangao – Toucheng) that drives through several city centers. Get off in Jiaoxi.
MEMO Skipping a natural hot spring bath in Jiaoxi just like not trying some Lanyang snacks when you go to Yilan. Without doing so, your trip won’t be complete. The hot spring bathhouses in Jiaoxi are quite comprehensive. Even leisure facilities and beauty SPAs are provided.

Dali Tiangong Temple

MEMO “The Tides of Dali” was listed as the “Eight Wonders of Lanyang” by the Nationalist Government in the early days. The temple goers like to gaze at the Turtle Island from the temple after their worship. The view is especially awe-inspiring when the northeast monsoon winds blow.
