Take the Coastal Highway to Yilan and you shall find the Daxi Fishery Port. If you want to enjoy a feast for both the eyes and the ears, drop by at around 2 or 3 pm to watch fishermen unload their harvests, which are then bargained by wholesalers and restaurant owners out and loud. The port is always filled with these fishery professionals even without tourists on weekdays. But feel free join them and get yourself some of the fresh fish and seafood.
You can also just get a bite at nearby food stands. Boiled squid, fried fish fillets and mixed seafood pancakes are among the popular choices. The pancakes are usually served with juicy oysters and fat shrimps in a big bowl. Grab some fish or seafood to eat before you leave, so that you won’t regret when you get home.
